SAFETY CULTURE POLICY

The vision of IC İçtaş Nükleer ve Endüstriyel Tesisler Yapım A.Ş. (IC İçtaş Nükleer) is to minimize any damage to its employees, third parties, property and the environment during its operations. It is to regulate the issues related to a management system that gives priority to safety and supports a safety culture, which will be established, maintained and continuously improved by the Organizations that establish, operate, decommission or close a facility.

IC İçtaş Nükleer also undertakes to act in accordance with the following principles;

  • All employees of the organization, including managers, have a safety culture,
  • A common understanding and commitment to safety and safety culture within the organization,
  • To ensure that workers and teams prioritize safety, are aware of the radiation risks and hazards associated with jobs and working conditions, and understand the importance of jobs and working conditions in terms of safety and their impact on safety,
  • To ensure that employees bear responsibility for their attitudes and behaviors regarding safety,
  • That employees have a shared understanding that fosters trust, communication and collaboration,
  • To report problems related to technical, human and organizational factors and any inadequacies in structures, systems and components in a timely manner in order to prevent weaknesses in security,
  • To take measures to encourage inquisitive and learning behaviors at all levels,
  • To take measures to prevent the tendency of employees to find the level of safety adequate,
  • To find and use the tools needed by the organization to improve safety and safety culture,
  • To use international good practice examples to improve safety and safety culture,
  • To prioritize security in decision-making mechanisms regarding activities,
  • To establish and implement a registered system within the scope of the management system for monitoring, evaluating and, if necessary, improving the safety culture within the organization,
  • To confirm that the suppliers from which the organization receives security-critical goods or services also have a security culture,
  • The organization trains its employees to ensure that they understand the characteristics of the safety culture and the importance of the tasks they perform in terms of safety. Furthermore, the organization ensures that employees of suppliers providing safety-critical goods or services are trained to understand the significance of the relevant activity or work in terms of safety and to improve awareness of safety requirements.
  • To determine a corporate security policy that gives security issues a priority commensurate with their importance and takes into account that security involves the interaction of the individual, technology and the organization, and to ensure that this policy is adopted by all managers and employees,
  • To ensure that a strong safety culture is established in the organization and that managers and employees continue their activities as required by this culture,
  • To ensure that employees are aware of their individual responsibility for safety and that safety priorities and responsibilities are taken into account in decisions made at all levels,
  • To regularly monitor, measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the management system and update the management system when necessary to improve performance, reduce problems and identify areas for improvement for all elements, especially security,
